Hello there! Well, to say we’ve had an interesting few days would be an understatement. We were initially meant to begin our journey home on Saturday morning but a hurricane has been roaming the coast which caused an early cancellation for our flight. We were then moved to a Friday evening flight, which was canceled because of the hurricane, and then to a Saturday evening flight, which, as you guessed it, was canceled because of the hurricane. Fortunately, it appears to be moving far enough south that the airline claims we can finally leave Sunday morning. If that flight doesn’t go, Avery and Perry are going to jump on my back and I’ll begin to flap my arms and see how far we get.
The positive side of all this is that we have had some more time to spend with the church members here. We visited a few more in their homes to encourage them, and then had a class with Eli and the village preachers to discuss how we worship and why we do things the way we do, specifically with our singing. Eli said they all understand the principles but wanted a confirmation and good explanation to help them teach others, and we were glad to help. We also got one last opportunity to eat and fellowship with a few members of the church here who came to see us before we leave!
Right now, we have all of our things packed and ready. I gave Perry and Avery the night off from writing so that they could rest for our journey that will hopefully begin early in the morning, but you’ll hear from them again one more time once we get home. Hopefully we’ll see you soon!
